Kidman sisters arrive home

Nicole Kidman has flown home to Sydney to be with her grieving family following the death of her father in Singapore.

Husband Keith Urban was by Nicole’s side when she arrived from the US on Sunday morning, Fairfax Media reports.

The couple went straight to the family’s home on the lower north shore to be with Nicole’s mother Janelle and sister Antonia, who arrived from Singapore on Saturday.

Dr Antony Kidman, 75, the esteemed Sydney-based clinical psychologist, died from an apparent heart attack on Friday morning in a restaurant at the exclusive Tanglin Club.

Dr Kidman was in Singapore to visit his younger daughter Antonia, her husband Craig Marran and six grandchildren.

After early morning exercise he went to the club’s Wheelhouse restaurant, where he suffered an apparent heart attack and was later pronounced dead in hospital.

As Antonia flew to Sydney, her husband had the difficult task of going to the mortuary at Singapore General Hospital and speaking to local police and undertakers.

Oscar-winning Nicole and Antonia have over the years publicly pointed to their father’s strength and emotional support during their own personally difficult times.

Nicole’s publicist and friend Leslee Dart said Nicole and her family were in shock at his sudden death.

“She appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly requests privacy during this very difficult time.”

Country singer-songwriter Urban cancelled an upcoming US concert to be with his wife.

“I’m so very sorry that I cannot perform this weekend. We are in a deep state of grief at the passing of Nic’s Father and are heading to Australia to be with family,” he posted on Facebook.

“We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their love, prayers and support through this devastating loss.”
